by Chicago Blackhawks / Chicago Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled forward Brandon Bollig from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Bollig, 26, was assigned to Rockford on March 6 after appearing in 11 games with the Blackhawks this season, recording 40 penalty minutes. He registered a season-high two shots on Feb. 17 vs. Los Angeles and skated in a season-most 7:27 of ice time on Jan. 30 at Minnesota.

The St. Charles, Mo., native has earned 98 penalty minutes in 29 career regular-season games with the Blackhawks and scored one goal in four Stanley Cup playoff games during the 2011-12 postseason.

The Blackhawks return to action on Friday night when they travel to Colorado for the second game of a home-and-home series with the Avalanche. Friday’s game is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. CT and can be seen locally on Comcast SportsNet Chicago Plus or heard on WGN-720AM.
