by Chicago Blackhawks / Chicago Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have reassigned defenseman Stephen Johns to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Johns, 22, has five assists in 16 games with Rockford this season. The Ellwood City, Pa., native made his professional debut with Rockford on April 4, 2014, after playing four seasons at the University of Notre Dame. Johns, the Blackhawks’ second-round selection (60th overall) in the 2010 National Hockey League Draft, has recorded 10 points (1G, 9A) in 24 career games with Rockford.

The Blackhawks return to action on Thursday when they face off against the Calgary Flames at 8 p.m. CT. The game can be seen on Comcast SportsNet and heard on WGN Radio AM-720 (also simulcast on 87.7FM The Game).
