Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have re-signed forward Mark Bell to a one-year contract.
Bell, 25, a 6'4", 205 pound forward, was selected by the Blackhawks in the 1st round, 8th overall, in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. He has appeared in 257 career NHL games all with the Blackhawks recording 47 goals and 56 assists for 103 points and 347 penalty minutes.
Bell posted career highs during the 2003-04 season recording 21 goals and 24 assists for 45 points. He ranks 3rd on the team in points, tied for 3rd in goals, 4th in assists and 4th in penalty minutes (106). He was one of four Blackhawk forwards (Arnason 22, Bell 21, Calder 21, Ruutu 23) to record at least 20 or more goals during the 2003-04 season.
