Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have re-signed center Tyler Arnason to a one-year contract.
Arnason, 26, 5'11", 192 pound center was selected by the Blackhawks in the 7th round, 183rd overall, in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. He has appeared in 185 career NHL games all with the Blackhawks recording 44 goals and 54 assists for 98 points and 40 penalty minutes.
Arnason posted career highs during the 2003-04 season recording 22 goals and 33 assists for 55 points. He led the team in scoring while ranking 2nd on the team in goals and assists. He was one of four Blackhawk forwards (Arnason 22, Bell 21, Calder 21, Ruutu 23) to record at least 20 or more goals during the 2003-04 season.
Arnason was selected to the NHL All-Rookie Team in 2002-03 and the AHL Rookie of the Year and the AHL All-Rookie Team for the 2001-02 season.
