The Chicago Blackhawks are inviting all fans to join forwards Bryan Bickell, Brandon Bollig, Brandon Saad, Andrew Shaw and Ben Smith and defenseman Nick Leddy in the National Hockey League’s annual Beard-a-Thon during the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs. All proceeds from the Blackhawks’ Beard-a-Thon will benefit Chicago Blackhawks Charities. Fans can enroll today via www.beardathon.com/blackhawks.
By joining the Blackhawks’ Beard-a-Thon, fans pledge to maintain their beard as long as the team remains in the playoffs. Fans who are unwilling or unable to grow playoffs beards can also pledge their beard grower. For more information, please log onto www.beardathon.com/blackhawks.
First place overall will win four tickets to a 2014-15 Blackhawks regular-season home game. Second place will win a team-signed autographed stick, while third place will win a photograph signed by Jonathan Toews and a puck signed by Patrick Kane.
The fan who raises the most money during the first week (April 9 through 5 p.m. on April 16) of the Beard-a-Thon will win two 300-Level tickets to the Blackhawks’ first home playoff game. The fan who has raised the most money by the end of the First Round will win a stick autographed by a player of their choice.
Since the Beard-a-Thon launched in 2009, hockey fans across the country have raised over $2.5 million for hockey-related charities.
