Blackhawks Assign Crawford, Ryan

Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that goaltender Corey Crawford and defenseman Prestin Ryan have been assigned to the Blackhawks American Hockey League affiliate, the Rockford Ice Hogs.

Crawford, 22, played in one pre-season game for the Blackhawks, stopping 27 of 28 shots against the Florida Panthers. Crawford set a franchise record last season by winning 38 games for Norfolk(AHL) and was selected by the Blackhawks in the 2nd round (32nd overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

Ryan, 27, appeared in two pre-season games for the Blackhawks and posted a plus/minus rating of plus-1. Ryan was signed as a free agent by the Blackhawks on July 27, 2007 after playing last season for Manitoba (AHL).

The Blackhawks roster now stands at 29 players.
