Blackhawks announce championship book and movie details

by Chicago Blackhawks / Chicago Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks announced today the premiere of their 2013 Stanley Cup championship movie, “17 Seconds,” at the Navy Pier IMAX Theatre on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. Produced by Blackhawks TV and Banner Collective, the hour-long feature takes fans inside the dramatic end to Game 6 that culminated in the Blackhawks’ second Stanley Cup in four seasons with never-before-seen footage of the celebrations following the victory.

“‘17 Seconds’ is a unique project that doesn’t just document the Stanley Cup win, but tells the story from an inside vantage point, something not usually captured in sports films," said Wirtz Beverage Group Executive Vice President Danny Wirtz. "The access and rapport the Banner Collective team has with the Blackhawks players and organization ultimately gives fans an intimate look into the thrill of a historic victory and the subsequent celebration.”

“17 Seconds” will be included in Blackhawks Publishing’s upcoming hardcover book, “One Goal II,” which can be pre-ordered now via and will be available at all Blackhawks Store locations in mid-November.

“Blackhawks Publishing and Blackhawks TV, in collaboration with our talented partners at Banner Collective, are excited to give fans the opportunity to commemorate the 2012-13 season with this championship DVD and hardcover book,” said Blackhawks Senior Director of New Media and Creative Services Adam Kempenaar. “We believe the behind-the-scenes video, photos and commentary offer a definitive account of the Blackhawks' Stanley Cup win and beyond.”

“17 Seconds” will provide an all-access pass inside the locker room party in Boston and the airplane ride home with the Cup following Game 6, in addition to insight from the players on the Stanley Cup-winning team and members of the organization. Fans can ride along on the players’ buses during the championship parade and follow the Blackhawks as they spend their Cup days with family and friends, sharing the greatest trophy in sports with their communities.

Additional details of the premiere, which is by invitation only, will be announced at a later date. Fans can also watch the movie during a limited run at the Navy Pier IMAX Theatre. Dates and ticketing information will be available at a later date on
