Blackhawks announce 2015-16 local television schedule

In conjunction with official television broadcasting partners Comcast SportsNet and WGN-TV Channel 9, the Chicago Blackhawks today announced its 2015-16 regular-season local television schedule. Chicago’s 11th consecutive campaign on Comcast SportsNet features 50 contests, beginning with the team’s first road game on Friday, Oct. 9, when they visit the N.Y. Islanders at 6:30 p.m. CT. “Blackhawks Pregame Live” will air prior to every game on Comcast SportsNet, with “Blackhawks Postgame Live” immediately following each contest.

The Blackhawks’ eighth consecutive season on WGN-TV launches on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 7:30 p.m. CT when the team hosts the N.Y. Islanders at the United Center. Chicago makes 20 appearances on the station, which was also its home from 1961 to 1975. Pat Foley (play-by-play) and Eddie Olczyk (analyst) will provide the coverage on both Comcast SportsNet and WGN-TV broadcasts, all of which can be seen in high definition.

Every regular-season game in 2015-16 can also be heard on the radio home of the Blackhawks, WGN Radio AM-720, with John Wiedeman (play-by-play) and Troy Murray (analyst) calling the action.

In addition to regular-season coverage, four Blackhawks preseason games will be broadcast on Comcast Sports Net Plus (Sept. 23 at Detroit, Sept. 25 at Montreal, Oct. 1 at St. Louis and Oct. 3 vs. Dallas) and two contests will be broadcast on WGN-TV (Sept. 22 vs. Detroit and Dept. 26 vs. St. Louis). WGN Radio AM-720 will air five of the team’s preseason tilts on Sept. 22, Sept. 23, Sept. 25, Oct. 1 and Oct. 3; the Sept. 26 preseason game will be streamed live on and re-air on WGN Radio AM-720 at approximately 10:30 p.m. that night.
