Blackhawks announce 2014-15 local broadcast schedule

In conjunction with official television broadcasting partners Comcast SportsNet and WGN-TV Channel 9, the Chicago Blackhawks today announced its 2014-15 regular-season local television schedule. Locally, 71 Blackhawks games will air on Comcast SportsNet and WGN-TV. Click here to see the full schedule.

Chicago’s 10th consecutive campaign on Comcast SportsNet features 51 contests, beginning with the season opener on Thursday, Oct. 9, at 7:30 p.m. CT when the Blackhawks visit the Dallas Stars. “Blackhawks Pregame Live” will air prior to the majority of games on Comcast SportsNet, with “Blackhawks Postgame Live” immediately following each contest.

The Blackhawks seventh consecutive season on WGN-TV launches on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 7:30 p.m. CT when the team hosts the Nashville Predators at the United Center. Chicago makes 20 appearances on the station, which was also its home from 1961 to 1975. Pat Foley (play-by-play) and Eddie Olczyk (analyst) will provide the coverage on both Comcast SportsNet and WGN-TV broadcasts, all of which can be seen in high definition.

Every regular-season game in 2014-15 can also be heard on the radio home of the Blackhawks, WGN Radio AM-720, with John Wiedeman (play-by-play) and Troy Murray (analyst) calling the action.

In addition to regular-season coverage, four Blackhawks games (Sept. 23 vs. DET, Sept. 26 vs. NYR, Oct. 1 vs. MTL and Oct. 3 at NYR) will be televised on Comcast SportsNet during the 2014 preseason. WGN Radio AM-720 and 87.7FM The Game will air three of the team’s preseason tilts on Sept. 25, Oct. 1 and Oct. 3.
