The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have agreed to terms with forward Marcus Kruger
on a two-year contract.
Kruger, 23, registered 13 points (4G, 9A) in 47 games last season, including a career-high two game-winning goals. He led team forwards and ranked second overall with an average of 2:30 of shorthanded ice time per game. The 6-0, 181-pound forward added a post-season career-high five points (3G, 2A) in 23 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
The Stockholm, Sweden, native has earned 39 points (13G, 26A) in 125 career games with the Blackhawks from 2010 to 2013. He has recorded six points (3G, 3A) in 34 career playoff contests.
Kruger was originally selected by Chicago in the fifth round, 149th overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
