The Chicago Blackhawks announced today they have agreed to terms with forward Kyle Baun on a two-year contract extension, which runs through the end of the 2017-18 National Hockey League season.
Baun, 23, has tallied three helpers in 22 games with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League this year. The Toronto native opened the season with Chicago, registering one shot on goal in two games before being assigned to Rockford on Oct. 16; he has skated in five career NHL games with the Blackhawks since agreeing to terms on a two-year contract on March 26, 2015. Prior to his professional career, Baun registered 79 points (39G, 40A) in 113 contests with Colgate University across three seasons.
The Blackhawks will face off against the Boston Bruins tonight at 6 p.m. CT. The game can be seen on Comcast SportsNet and heard on WGN Radio.
