The Chicago Blackhawks announced today they have agreed to terms with forward Artem Anisimov (AHR-tehm a-NEE-see-mawv) on a five-year extension, which runs through the end of the 2020-21 National Hockey League season.
Anisimov, 27, totaled 27 points (7G, 20A) in 52 games for the Columbus Blue Jackets last season. The Yaroslavl, Russia, native has 192 career points (86G, 106A) over 412 career NHL games with Columbus (2012-15) and the New York Rangers (2008-12). He was acquired via trade with the Blue Jackets yesterday, June 30, 2015.
Anisimov has represented Russia in multiple international competitions including the Olympics (2014), World Championships (2010, 2013, 2014 and 2015), World Junior Championships (2007 and 2008) and U-18 World Junior Championships (2006). He was selected in the second round (54th overall) by the Rangers in the 2006 NHL Draft.
