Blackhawks add Carcillo to training camp roster

The Chicago Blackhawks announced today they have added forward Daniel Carcillo to their training camp roster.

The 2013 Stanley Cup champion recorded 14 points (4G, 10A) and a +11 plus/minus rating in 51 regular-season games with Chicago from 2011-2013 and added one assist in four 2013 playoff games.

Carcillo, 29, split the 2013-14 regular season between the Los Angeles Kings and New York Rangers, combining for five points (4G, 1A), 121 hits and 100 penalty minutes, including six fighting majors, in 57 games. He added two goals in eight 2014 Stanley Cup Playoff contests with the Rangers.

Originally selected in the third round (73rd overall) of the 2003 National Hockey League Draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins, Carcillo has earned 92 points (44G, 48A) and 1,179 PIM in 390 career NHL games with Arizona (2006-09), Philadelphia (2009-11), Chicago (2011-13), Los Angeles (2013-14) and the Rangers (2013-14). The King City, Ontario, native has registered 14 points (7G, 7A), a +9 rating and 97 PIM in 45 career Stanley Cup playoff games, including an appearance in the 2010 Stanley Cup Final with the Flyers, a 2013 Stanley Cup victory with Chicago and a run to the 2014 Stanley Cup Final with the Rangers.

The team’s active roster now includes 16 forwards, 10 defensemen and three goaltenders.
