The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they activated forward Patrick Sharp from Injured Reserve and assigned forward Joakim Nordstrom to the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.
Sharp, 32, has registered nine points (3G, 6A), including six power-play points (3G, 3A), and 56 shots on goal in 13 games this season. The Thunder Bay, Ontario, native paced the Blackhawks with a career-high 78 points (34G, 44A) in 82 regular-season games last year.
Nordstrom, 22, has recorded two assists in 10 games with Chicago this season. The Stockholm, Sweden, native has tallied eight points (5G, 3A), including three power-play goals, in 14 games with Rockford this year. Nordstrom was the team’s third-round selection (90th overall) in the 2010 National Hockey League Draft.
The Blackhawks return to action tonight when they face off against the New Jersey Devils at 6 p.m. CT. The game can be seen on Comcast SportsNet and heard on WGN Radio AM-720.
