Blackhawks activate Mashinter and assign to Rockford

The Chicago Blackhawks announced today they have activated forward Brandon Mashinter (MASH-ihn-tuhr) from Injured Reserve and assigned him to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Mashinter, 26, appeared in 47 regular-season games for Rockford last season, tallying 28 points (14G, 14A). The Bradford, Ontario, native also played in six games for the New York Rangers and 11 games for the Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL) last season, where he recorded seven points (1G, 6A).

The Blackhawks return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 15, when they host the Calgary Flames at the United Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT and the game can be seen on Comcast SportsNet or heard on WGN Radio AM-720.
