General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have recalled defenseman Cam Barker and forward Troy Brouwer from the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL.
Barker was with the Blackhawks prior to the All-Star break and was assigned to Norfolk to play during the break. He has appeared in 31 games for the Admirals scoring 5 goals and adding 8 assists for 13 points with 49 penalty minutes and a +5 rating. Of his 5 goals, 2 have come on the power play. Barker has played in 4 games for the Blackhawks this season scoring his first NHL goal, a power play tally, on January 14th against the Minnesota Wild.
Brouwer is also on his second recall by the Blackhawks. He has appeared in 44 games for the Admirals scoring 25 goals while adding 28 assists for 53 points with 47 penalty minutes and a +7 rating. Of his 25 goals, 13 have come on the power play.
A first year pro, Brouwer ranks 5th in the AHL in scoring with 53 points. He also has been named to represent the Norfolk Admirals in the American Hockey League All-Star Game which takes place in Toronto on January 29th.
Brouwer has played in two games for the Blackhawks this season and has not yet scored. He played in his first career NHL game on December 23rd at Colorado.
