Aucoin To IR, Barker Recalled

by Staff Writer / Chicago Blackhawks

General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have recalled defenseman Cam Barker from the Norfolk Admirlas in the AHL and have placed defenseman Adrian Aucoin on injured reserve with a pulled groin.

Barker had pre-season ankle surgery and was assigned to Norfolk on October 29th. He has appeared in 30 games for the Admirals and has scored five goals, two on the power play, while adding eight assists for 13 points with 49 penalty minutes and a +4 rating.

Barker was the Blackhawks' 1st round draft choice (3rd overall) in the 2004 NHL entry draft. He made his NHL debut last season playing against Colorado on October 14, 2005.

Aucoin suffered a pulled groin in last Wednesday night's game against the Buffalo Sabres and did not play on Saturday night at Detroit. This is the second time this season that a pulled groin has sidelined Aucoin. He missed 11 games earlier this season with the same injury.
