Anderson To Appear At Barrington Expo

by Staff Writer / Chicago Blackhawks

Chicago Blackhawks Goaltender Craig Anderson will return to his roots when he visits the Barrington Community Expo at the Good Shepherd Fitness Center, 1301 S. Barrington Rd., on Sat., September 10 from 2-3 p.m.

Anderson, who grew up in the Barrington area, will be available to chat with fans about the upcoming Blackhawks season and sign autographs. "I'm looking forward to this event because so many people in this area were so supportive of me when I was playing youth hockey," Anderson said.

Anderson is about to begin his third season with the Blackhawks. Last season with the Blackhawks AHL affiliate in Norfolk, Anderson was 9-4-1 with a 1.83 GAA before being sidelined with a hip injury. Anderson returned during the playoffs posting a 2.36 GAA in six games.

Selected by the Blackhawks in the third round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Anderson is a product of Illinois youth hockey. Anderson was born in Park Ridge and played for Team Illinois.
