Anatomy of a goal: Hossa ties it up

by Mackenzie McCluer / Chicago Blackhawks
Trailing the Montreal Canadiens 2-1 with less than a minute remaining in the third period, the Chicago Blackhawks desperately needed a goal to force overtime in their last regular season match-up at the United Center. With starting netminder Corey Crawford pulled for an extra attacker, Patrick Sharp fired the puck to Marian Hossa, who knocked it past Montreal goalie Peter Budaj, tying the game with 47.7 seconds left on the clock. Sharp would go on to score the game-winning goal 43 seconds into the extra period — marking Chicago's first overtime goal of the campaign.

The Blackhawks Blog was there to capture the goal, moment by moment.
