Admirals Beat Phantoms For 4th Straight Win

Jordan Hendry scored his first career AHL goal, and Pavel Vorobiev had a goal and an assist, as the Admirals beat the Phantoms 3-1 for their fourth consecutive victory.

The Phantoms notched the first tally of the game, as Matt Ellison scored on the power play at 2:16 of the opening period. Philadelphia led 1-0 after twenty minutes.

Norfolk tied the game late in the second stanza. Jordan Hendry sent a shot from the right circle that sailed over Houle's shoulder for his first career pro goal at 16:29. The Admirals took the lead with 22 seconds remaining in the period.

While on the power play, Carl Corazzini skated from the neutral zone into the attacking zone along the far-side boards and circled behind the net. He mailed a centering pass into the slot that Nathan Barrett collected. Barrett sent a backhander top shelf on Houle for his 29th goal of the season. The Admirals took a 2-1 lead into the final frame.

Pavel Vorobiev doubled Norfolk's lead midway through the period as a Phantoms' power play expired. Vorobiev stole the puck from Alexandre Picard behind the net and quickly sent a wraparound into a yawning cage at 6:36.
The marker capped scoring as Norfolk prevailed 3-1.

Adam Munro limited his opponents to one goal for his third consecutive start, as he stopped 23 of 24 shots in the game to pick up the victory.
Martin Houle was saddled with the loss and made 30 saves on 33 shots.

Norfolk was 1-7 on the power play. Philadelphia was 1-8.
