1st Star: C Joakim Nordstrom, Rockford IceHogs (AHL)
The Line: 3GP, 2G, 1A

Rockford’s newly minted captain – the eighth in franchise history, as well as the youngest at age 22 – led the IceHogs to three victories in three games last week, extending the team’s win streak to five games and vaulting to the top of the AHL’s Midwest Division. Nordstrom netted the game-winning goal in a narrow 2-1 result over the Grand Rapids Griffins on Wednesday, scored a power-play goal in a 6-3 win over San Antonio on Friday, then assisted on the opening goal of a 5-1 win over the Rampage on Saturday. Nordstrom shares sixth on the team with five points (3G, 2A) in 10 games this season.

The 2012 fifth-round pick scored his first goal of the season in the second period, added the eventual game-winner in the third period and capped off the win with an empty-netter; Ross now shares sixth on the team with five points in 2014-15.

The Line: 3GP, 1G, 3A

Danault has gotten off to a strong start offensively, leading the team with a 1.00 point-per-game pace (2G, 6A in just eight games). The 2011 first-round pick posted three points on Friday at San Antonio, including assists on two of Ross’ three goals, then picked up a helper on the game-winning goal in Saturday’s 5-1 win over the Rampage.

IceHogs rookie Teravainen collected four assists in three games last week, including one on both of Rockford’s goals in Wednesday’s 2-1 win over Grand Rapids. The 2012 first-round pick now shares the team lead with six helpers this season.

Sophomore winger John Hayden posted points in each of Yale’s season-opening games over the weekend. The 2013 third-round selection opened the scoring and added an assist in a 2-2 tie with Princeton on Friday, then contributed another assist in the Bulldogs’ 2-1 win over Connecticut on Sunday.
