1st Star: RW Ryan Hartman, Rockford IceHogs (AHL)
The Line: 3GP, 3G, 3A

Hartman played a big part in helping the IceHogs secure a playoff spot for the first time since 2010, after picking up three goals and three assists in three outings last week. The 2013 first-round pick assisted on Rockford’s only goal in a 6-1 loss at Grand Rapids on Wednesday, then scored twice in a 6-2 win over the Griffins on Friday and posted three points (1G, 2A) in a 7-2 victory over Rochester on Saturday. Hartman extended his point streak to four games and now ranks sixth on the team with 32 points (13G, 19A) in 62 games this season.

2nd Star: C Alex Broadhurst, Rockford IceHogs (AHL)
The Line: 3GP, 2G, 4A

Broadhurst has been lights out since returning to Rockford’s lineup, and he continued making an impact last week. After picking up an assist on Friday against Grand Rapids, the 2011 seventh-round pick collected a career-high five points (2G, 3A) the next night, combining with linemates Hartman and Spencer Abbott for eight points on the night. The Orland Park, Ill., native now has 11 points (4G, 7A) in 22 games, including nine in seven outings since coming back from an upper-body injury.

3rd Star: G Anders Nilsson, AZ Bars Kazan (KHL)
The Line: 3GS, 2-1, 2SO

Nilsson continued to post stellar numbers in the KHL playoffs, winning two of his three starts last week to help AK Bars Kazan win the Eastern Conference Final. After dropping a 2-1 result to Sibir in Game 3 on Tuesday, Nilsson responded by not allowing a single goal in the next two games, stopping 50 combined shots in a pair of 1-0 overtime wins to close out the series. The 25-year-old now leads league netminders in the postseason in goals-against average (1.08) and save percentage (.953). AK Bars Kazan will face either CSKA Moscow or SKA St. Petersburg in the KHL Final.

Honorable mentions: LW Garret Ross, Rockford (AHL); RW Mark McNeill, Rockford (AHL)

Rockford’s top line has continued to click as the IceHogs roll toward the playoffs. Leading scorer Garret Ross added to his season total with four points in three games last week, including a three-point night (2G, 1A) in Friday’s win over Grand Rapids. He now has 42 points (21G, 21A) in 63 games in his second full AHL season.

Linemate Mark McNeill also contributed four points in last week’s contests, posting a goal and an assist on both Friday and Saturday. The 2011 first-round pick ranks second on the team with 40 points (20G, 20A) in 56 games this season.
