1st Star: RW Mark McNeill, Rockford IceHogs (AHL)
The Line: 2GP, 2G, 4A

McNeill’s line led Rockford to two wins over the Texas Stars last weekend, with the 2011 first-round draft pick notching a goal and two helpers in each contest, including the only assist on Pierre-Cedric Labrie’s overtime game-winner in a 4-3 win on Friday. McNeill’s offensive explosion snapped a six-game streak without a point, and he now shares second on the team with 31 points (16G, 15A) in 43 games this season.

2nd Star: C Phillip Danault, Rockford IceHogs (AHL)
The Line: 2GP, 3G, first career hat trick

Danault’s first career hat trick helped Rockford get a big 6-3 win over Texas on Saturday; he tallied the game-winner, an insurance goal and an empty-netter for the IceHogs’ fifth hat trick as a team this season. The 2011 first-round pick shares second on the team with 31 points (11G, 20A) in 51 games this season.

3rd Star: LW Garret Ross, Rockford IceHogs (AHL)
The Line: 2GP, 2G, 2A

Ross, the third member of Rockford’s top line, contributed a goal and an assist in both games against Texas. With T.J. Brennan traded to Toronto, he now leads the team with 17 goals and 34 points, matching his career high set in 2013-14. Ross also posted 13 shots on goal in those two contests, including a game-high eight on Saturday, and continues to pace the IceHogs with 120 SOG this season.

Honorable mentions: RW Matt Iacopelli, Muskegon Lumberjacks (USHL); G Anders Nilsson, AK Bars Kazan (KHL)

Iacopelli netted three goals and an assist in two games for Muskegon last week, including two in a 4-1 win over Cedar Rapids on Saturday. The 2014 third-round selection leads the team with 20 goals in 44 games this season.

Nilsson backstopped AK Bars Kazan to a 2-0 series lead over Avtmobilist in the first round of the KHL playoffs. The 24-year-old made a combined 44 saves on 48 shots, winning both games 3-2 in overtime. Nilsson has a 1.94 goals-against average and .917 save percentage in the postseason.

  • Vincent Hinostroza posted a pair of assists in Notre Dame’s 3-1 win over Boston College as the Fighting Irish split their weekend series with the Eagles. The 2012 sixth-round pick continues to lead the team with 30 helpers and 38 points in 36 games this year... Anthony Louis extended his point streak to six games with three assists in two games against Denver last weekend, helping Miami to a split against their conference rivals. The 2013 sixth-rounder ranks seconds with 21 assists and third with 27 points in 29 games this season... Nick Schmaltz, Chicago’s 2014 first-round pick, finished off a highlight reel goal on Friday vs. St. Cloud State that made ESPN’s Top 10.

  • University of Vermont captain Michael Paliotta tallied his ninth goal of the season in a 2-2 tie with UMass-Lowell. The senior defenseman continues to lead the Catamounts with 31 points in 34 games this season... UND blueliner Nick Mattson enjoyed a big weekend, picking up a goal and two helpers in two games vs. St. Cloud State. The 2010 sixth-round pick now has 16 points (3G, 13A) in 24 games in his senior campaign... Sam Jardine netted his second goal of the season for Ohio State on Saturday as the Buckeyes defeated Penn State 5-3.

  • Defenseman Dillon Fournier, who was called up from the ECHL last week, notched his first AHL points, posting three assists in two games against the Stars. The 2012 second-rounder has played 10 games with the IceHogs this season; he also has seven points (2G, 5A) in 34 games with Indy... Ryan Hartman and Stephen Johns each collected a pair of helpers in Rockford’s 6-3 win on Saturday.

  • Mac Carruth won both of his starts for Indy last week, including a 53-save effort in a 54 overtime win at Fort Wayne on Saturday. The 22-year-old netminders improved his record to 13-10-2-2, with a 2.51 GAA and .916 SV%.
