2010 Blackhawks Convention set for this weekend at the Hilton Chicago

The Chicago Blackhawks will host their third annual Blackhawks Convention at the Hilton Chicago (720 S. Michigan Ave) from Friday, July 30 to Sunday, August 1, with over 10,000 fans expected to attend.


The sold-out event, which is the first of its kind in the National Hockey League, will feature players, coaches and Blackhawks Alumni along with team broadcasters and team executives. The weekend includes over 20 Q&A panels with players and front office staff, autograph and photo opportunities, an area dedicated to interactive games (Northwest Hall) and over 60 vendors (Southwest Hall).

Other highlights of the weekend include (Subject to change):

•Media celebrities serving as panelists and moderators, including Dave Eanet of Chicago’s WGN Radio, David Kaplan of Chicago’s WGN Radio and Comcast SportsNet, Comcast SportsNet’s Chris Boden and Sarah Kustok, WGN-TV’s Pat Tomasulo, ABC7’s Ravi Baichwal and CBS2’s Rob Johnson.

•The “Blackhawks Bash,” in the International Ballroom on Saturday from 7:00 to 10:00 P.M., which includes music, singing and dancing featuring a live karaoke band.

•The “Locker Room Sale” in the Northeast Hall throughout the weekend, featuring live and silent auctions of Blackhawks memorabilia and game-used equipment.

•2010 Olympians Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook discuss their time in Vancouver in the Grand Ballroom on Saturday at 11:30 A.M.

•Stanley Cup winners Brian Campbell, Patrick Sharp, Denis Savard and Troy Murray discuss Lord Stanley’s Cup along with Hockey Hall of Fame Chairman Bill Hay and Keeper Of The Cup Mike Bolt in the Grand Ballroom on Saturday at 12:45 P.M. •Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita, Pierre Pilote, Glenn Hall and teammates discuss Chicago’s 1961 Stanley Cup Championship in the Grand Ballroom on Saturday at 2:00 P.M.

Patrick Sharp, Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook review the Championship Parade and summer in the city in “Chicago’s Most Wanted” in the Grand Ballroom on Sunday at 10:15 A.M.

•Head Coach Joel Quenneville, Assistant Coach Mike Haviland, and new Assistant Coach Mike Kitchen discuss X’s & O’s in the Grand Ballroom on Sunday at 11:30 A.M.

2010 Blackhawks Convention Hours:

Friday, July 30: Registration begins at 12:00 P.M with all lower halls opening at 3:00 P.M.
Saturday, July 31: 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M.
Sunday, August 1: 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.
