The Chicago Blackhawks will host the 2009 Blackhaws Cup Championship games presented by Hinckley Springs, marking the 22nd year the organization has teamed up with AHAI (Amateur Hockey Association of Illinois) to have the high school varsity championships hosted at the Chicago Stadium and now the United Center.
The girls championship game features Loyola and New Trier and begins at 5:00 P.M., while the boys tilt also matches up Loyola and New Trier at 7:00 P.M. Last season, Glenbrook North captured the boys title at the United Center, while New Trier won the girls championship. Prior to the boys and girls Finals, the Blackhawks will host a Fire vs. Police contest, featuring players from stations all over Illinois.
Tickets for the high school championship games can be purchased at the United Center on the day of the event (Adults: $7.00; Students and Senior Citizens: $5.00), with proceeds benefitting Chicago Blackhawks Charities.
