The Chicago Blackhawks are proud to announce they will once again play host to the 2007 Blackhawk Cup Illinois High School Hockey Varsity State Championships at the United Center on Saturday, March 24th starting at 2:00 p.m. presented by Hinckley Springs.
The 2007 Blackhawk Cup State Championship got under way earlier this month with 36 Divisions in the youth state championships vying for the coveted Blackhawk Cup. The marquee match-up in the Boys Varsity Red Division will feature the Spartans of Glenbrook North and the Friars of Fenwick going head-to-head this Saturday afternoon. Both teams advanced to Saturday's Championship game by virtue of semifinal victories on Monday night at the Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville. Glenbrook North defeated their cross town rivals Glenbrook South by the score of 4-3 in overtime while Fenwick defeated their arch rivals Loyola Gold by the score of 3-1.
Tickets for the 2007 Blackhawk Cup Championship game are $7 for adults, $5 for children 6 to18 years of age, with children 5 and under entering for free. Tickets for the 2007 Blackhawk Cup Championship Game are available at the United Center Box Office or by calling Ticketmaster at 312-559-1212.
