10 things to know before attending the Draft

The NHL Draft is finally here! Make sure you're prepared before you come down to the United Center to have fun at Fan Fest and watch the selection of the No. 1 pick. Here are the 10 things you need to know before attending the 2017 NHL Draft.

1. Timing
Don't miss a single moment! Round 1 begins on Friday at 6 p.m. and is expected to conclude at around 10 p.m. The doors to the United Center will open at 4 p.m., but be sure to check out all the activities at our outdoor festival, which begins at 3 p.m. On Saturday, the United Center will open at 7 a.m. with Round 2 commencing at 9 a.m. Fan Fest will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

2. Parking
Please reference our directions and parking page for the best way to arrive at the United Center. United Center parking lots will open at 2 p.m. on Friday and 6 a.m. on Saturday. Parking costs $10.

3. Bags
No bags or backpacks will be permitted into Fan Fest. The United Center bag policy will be in place for fans attending the Draft inside the building. Click here to learn more about the policy.

4. Fan Fest
Fan Fest is an outdoor event that features the NHL Centennial Fan Arena, live entertainment, appearances from Blackhawks players and alumni, interactive games, and food and beverages from Chicago's Plate/Chicago's Pours. Check out the top 5 things to do at Fan Fest. You won't want to miss it!



5. Registering your Fan Pass
Before attending Fan Fest, register your pass so you can arrive ready to participate in the activities. Once registered, you will have the opportunity to win special autograph and photograph opportunities as well as the chance to win instant prizes onsite.

6. Appearances
Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, Brian Campbell and Chris Chelios highlight the list of guest appearances at Draft Fan Fest. Fans who are interested in obtaining an autograph or photograph will be treated on a first-come, first-serve basis. Wristbands will be handed out 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Scratch and Win sessions will be announced 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. Once your Fan Fest pass is registered, you will receive an email if you are a Scratch and Win experience winner. Click here to view the schedule of events.

7. Neon Trees
A special performance by rock band Neon Trees will kick off Fan Fest on Friday at 5 p.m. outside the United Center. Rock out to their best-known singles, "Everybody Talks" and "Animal," before entering the United Center for the Round 1 selections. Fan Fest will take place rain or shine.

8. Instant Prize Tower
Didn't win a Scratch and Win experience? Head over to the Instant Prize Tower at Fan Fest to swipe your pass for the chance to win prizes like autographed pucks, gift cards to the Blackhawks Store, tickets to a home game and Convention passes! Your pass can be scanned once a day, so be sure to head back to the Prize Tower on Saturday for a second opportunity to win!



9. Madhouse Team Store
Our brand-new Madhouse Team Store is now open in the United Center Atrium. Check out the latest Blackhawks and NHL Draft gear and enjoy the new technology integrated into the store. including an interactive photo booth and repurposed CTA train car. 10. Tickets
Still don't have a ticket? Stop by the United Center Box Office or Fan Fest Pass Registration Tent (Friday and Saturday) to pick up a FREE Fan Fest Pass! Looking to snag a seat inside the United Center to watch the Draft unfold? Tickets for Day 1 and 2 are no longer available. Stop by the United Center Box Office to learn more as more tickets may become available this weekend.
