Jean-Ian Filiatrault is in his second season as goaltending coach for the San Antonio Rampage, the Colorado Avalanche's American Hockey League affiliate. He joined the Avalanche organization on July 30, 2013 and spent two seasons as goaltending coach for the Lake Erie Monsters from 2013-2015.
A native of Montreal, Quebec, Filiatrault attended St. Laurent University for four years before making his professional debut in the 1991-92 season with the Oklahoma City Blazers of the CHL. Filiatrault, a former goalie, has more than 10 years of playing experience, including stops in the CHL, ECHL, WCHL, France and LNAH. He was awarded three CHL's Goaltender of the Year awards for his outstanding play in the 1995-96, 1996-97 and 1998-99 seasons. Filiatrault also earned playoff MVP honors after helping Oklahoma City win the CHL President's Trophy in the 1995-96 season.
After retiring from playing, Filiatrault coached goaltenders in the Anaheim Ducks organization and, most recently, with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
