Forward Wojtek Wolski took home the first "Play of the Week" honor of the season on a play that featured a tic-tac-toe passing effort between him, Paul Stastny and Milan Hejduk.
Wolski's tally received 35.45% of the vote, barely edging out Craig Anderson's save on Rob Blake (33.58%) and a Stastny no-look pass to set up another Wolski tally (30.97%).
The play now automatically qualifies for Colorado’s year-end “Play of the Year” bracket-style tournament – to be determined by Avalanche fans.
Be sure to check back each Friday during the season, as three new choices for the Avalanche’s “Play of the Week” will be posted for you to vote upon.
Wolski Finishes Tic-Tac-Toe Play – Oct. 3 vs. Vancouver (35.45%) Wojtek Wolski scored for the third time of the year on this play, which turned out to be the eventual game-winning goal in Colorado’s 3-0 victory over Vancouver. Wolski, Milan Hejduk and Paul Stastny worked a bit of magic to set up the play, with the passing sequence actually going Hejduk-Wolski-Stastny-Hejduk-Stastny-Wolski.
