Ryan Wilson's first career NHL goal was named the Avalanche's "Play of the Week" for the Nov. 13-19 timeframe in a very close race.
The rookie's tally (40.63%) squeaked by Cody McLeod's one-timer (36.88%) and a Milan Hejduk goal (22.49%) to pull off the victory.
The play now automatically qualifies for Colorado’s year-end “Play of the Year” bracket-style tournament – to be determined by Avalanche fans.
Be sure to check back each Friday during the season, as three new choices for the Avalanche’s “Play of the Week” will be posted for you to vote upon.
Wilson’s First Goal – 11/17 @ Calgary – 40.63% Following a nice display of cycling behind the Calgary net and a scramble just outside Miikka Kiprusoff’s crease, defenseman Ryan Wilson spotted a loose puck, pinched in and threw a backhander into the net for his first career NHL goal.
