by Aaron Lopez / Colorado Avalanche
Following a successful first day at the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, the Avalanche will get back to work on Saturday, as rounds 2-7 begin at 8:00 a.m. MT. will provide a link to live streaming video of Saturday’s festivities, courtesy of the NHL Network.

The Avalanche selected Brampton Battalion center Matt Duchene with the No. 3 overall pick on Friday, and will look to add many other talented young prospects to its system on Saturday.

Tune in early, as the Avalanche will have a pair of second-round choices, including the third pick of round two (33rd overall). The club also owns the 49th overall selection, which it acquired from Calgary – along with defensemen Lawrence Nycholat and Ryan Wilson – in exchange for Jordan Leopold at the 2009 trade deadline.

In addition, Colorado will have picks in the third (64th overall), fifth (124th overall), sixth (154th) and seventh (184th) rounds. Colorado traded its fourth-round pick to Columbus as part of the Adam Foote deal on Feb. 26, 2008.
