Tyler Weiss USA Hockey NTDP 2018 NHL Draft

DALLAS--The Colorado Avalanche picked forward Tyler Weiss with the 109th selection at the 2018 NHL Draft on Saturday.
Weiss, 18, has played the last two seasons with the United States National Team Development Program. He had 31 points (12 goals, 19 assists) in 58 games during the 2017-18 season after registering 29 points (eight goals, 21 assists) in the 2016-17 campaign.

The left wing recorded two goals and two assists in seven games as he helped Team USA win a silver medal at the 2018 IIHF U18 World Championship in Chelyabinsk and Magnitigorsk, Russia.
Prior to joining the Development Program, the 5-foot-10, 151 pound forward played part of his youth hockey in Canada.
A native of Raleigh, North Carolina, Weiss is the first from his state to be drafted in Avalanche franchise history.
Weiss is committed to playing at the University of Nebraska-Omaha next season in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference.
