Previously, Team Blue earned a 5-4 shootout win over Team Grey on Monday, while Team Black gained a 2-1 triumph over Team Grey on Sunday.

Team Black

Goalies: Tyler Weiman, Trevor Cann

1st Half
30:00: Maxwell is in net for Black, while Cann is between the pipes for Blue. Black starts Hensick, Stastny, Mercier, Foote and Cumiskey. For Blue, it’s Duchene, Hejduk, Jones, Quincey and Montgomery.

27:28: BLUE GOAL – Jones quickly makes it 1-0 in favor of Blue. Duchene sets up the goal by fighting off Macias in the bottom of the left circle before spinning and putting a shot on net. Jones then knocks in the rebound.

22:37: BLACK GOAL – The line of Stewart, O’Reilly and McLeod do a nice job cycling the puck down low, which results in Stewart putting a wrister past Cann.

19:12: BLUE GOAL – Blue takes a 2-1 lead on another Jones tally. This time, the forward beats Maxwell on a sharp wrister to the netminder’s glove side.

18:01: BLACK GOAL – With the Stewart/O’Reilly/McLeod line on the ice again, Stewart nets his second goal of the contest.

16:24: Foote and Finn are out there together on defense for Black. Earlier this morning, Foote was overheard talking about how odd it was playing with Finn, because Samuel’s father, Steven Finn, was Foote’s first NHL defensive partner.

16:18: Foote drops to one knee to block a Duchene scoring attempt in front of the Black goal.

14:50: McLeod lays a big hit on Burki.

14:19: Maxwell swallows up a Barrie wrister from the point.

14:04: Sauer takes over for Maxwell in the Black goal.

12:49: Sauer has been tested three times already, stopping attempts by Wolski, Duchene and Hannan.

12:11: Jones looks for the hat trick, but misses wide.

11:05: Stastny makes a nice feed across the crease to Hensick, but Cann slides across in time to make the stop.

8:48: BLUE GOAL – McLeod is whistled for elbowing Haydar. On the ensuing penalty shot (which is being used in camp in lieu of a two-minute penalty), Haydar puts a wrist shot over Sauer’s glove to give Blue a 3-2 lead.

2:02: BLACK GOAL – Tessier leads a Black rush up ice, but pulls back and throws a nice saucer pass across the rink to Macias. From there, Macias skates in and beats Cann short side.

0:00: At intermission, we have a tie game at 3-3.

2nd Half
30:00: Weiman starts for Blue, Budaj for Black.

25:47: Budaj stretches to make a skate save on Wolski and then covers the puck.

25:15: Clarke finds himself on a breakaway, but Budaj denies him with the blocker.

24:30: BLUE GOAL – Hannan fires a rocket from the left point past Budaj to give Blue a 4-3 advantage.

23:15: BLACK GOAL - Stastny answers right back for Team Black, with assists going to Mercier and Cumiskey.

18:21: BLACK GOAL - Black then takes the lead, as Sertich cuts toward the net and beats Weiman with a low shot.

17:25: BLUE GOAL – Jones completes his hat trick, blasting a shot past Budaj from low in the left faceoff circle. That makes it a 5-5 game.

15:16: Weiman makes a pair of point-blank saves, stopping Macias and Stewart.

8:03: BLACK GOAL – Mercier and Stastny work a give-and-go, with Stastny scoring from just outside the crease. The tally gives Black a 6-5 lead.

5:34: Barrie puts a hit on McLeod, but McLeod answers right back with an even bigger hit on the 2009 draftee.

2:59: Elliot tries to pick the corner and even the game for Team Blue, but just misses the net.

0:08: BLACK GOAL – Hensick adds an empty-net goal to wrap things up. Team Black earns a 7-5 win in the final scrimmage of training camp.

From The Head Coach
Coach Sacco’s Impressions From Camp…
“A lot of players impressed me. Overall I was extremely, extremely happy with the three days. I thought it was a good three days of training camp.”

On The Burgundy/White Game…
“We’re really looking forward to the Burgundy and White Game tomorrow night. It should be a good game. We still have guys who are competing for spots here, so it’s going to be another test for those guys.”

Burgundy/White Game
Tomorrow the Avalanche will play its annual Burgundy/White Game at Cadet Ice Arena on the grounds of Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs at 6:30 p.m.

The Burgundy/White Game features Avalanche players and prospects in a three-period, intra-squad scrimmage. Fans in attendance will also have the opportunity to watch a shootout at the end of regulation regardless of the score.

Proceeds from this year’s game will once again benefit military families and initiatives of The Home Front Cares, as well as the Colorado Avalanche Youth Hockey program. The previous nine Burgundy/White games have generated in excess of $475,000 for various charitable causes throughout Colorado.
