DENVER - Avalanche forward Alex Tanguay will miss 2-4 weeks due to a sprained right knee. Further examination and MRI tests revealed no more damage to the right knee.
The injury occurred during the first period of Sunday's game at San Jose.
Tanguay is the Avalanche's leading scorer with 74 points, placing among the top 15 scorers in the league. He also leads the team in assists (48) and is tied for second in goals (26).
