Stewart's Goal Named Play Of The Week

by Staff Writer / Colorado Avalanche
The second of three Chris Stewart goals against the Calgary Flames was voted the Avalanche's "Play of the Week" after taking home 42.59% of fan votes.

Stewart's breakaway tally bested goals by Matt Duchene (30.69%) and Daniel Winnik (26.72%) to earn the weekly honor.

The play now automatically qualifies for Colorado’s year-end “Play of the Year” bracket-style tournament – to be determined by Avalanche fans. Be sure to check back each Friday during the season, as three new choices for the Avalanche’s “Play of the Week” will be posted for you to vote upon.

Stewart Breaks Free – 10/28 @ Calgary
Chris Stewart recorded his second career hat trick in a 6-5 win over the Flames, with this goal serving as his second of the game. After some hard work along the half wall, Ryan O’Reilly caused a Calgary turnover and sent the puck to Stewart in the slot. From there, Stewart skated in alone and beat Flames netminder Henrik Karlsson with a wrist shot.
