The votes were calculated, and you, the fans, have selected Milan Hejduk's goal off a Paul Stastny feed as the Avalanche's "Play of the Week" for the Feb. 20-26 timeframe.
The winning play, which came during Stastny's return from a broken forearm on Feb. 24 at Atlanta, received 41.03% of the votes. That number topped Adam Foote's goal on Feb. 20 against Washington (33.78%) and Wojtek Wolski's tally on Feb. 22 at Carolina (25.19%).
The play now automatically qualifies for Colorado’s year-end “Play of the Year” bracket-style tournament – to be determined by Avalanche fans.
Be sure to check back each Friday during the season, as three new choices for the Avalanche’s “Play of the Week” will be posted for you to vote upon.
Stastny Sets Up Hejduk – 2/24 @ Atlanta Paul Stastny, making his return to the lineup after a 26-game layoff due to a broken forearm, set up the first of two Milan Hejduk tallies against the Thrashers. With the Avalanche on a power play, Stastny made a pass across the crease to Hejduk, who buried his 22nd goal of the season.
