The votes were tallied and you, the fans, selected Ryan Smyth's shootout winner against Buffalo as the Avs’ “Play of the Week” for the period of Oct. 24-30. Smyth's goal received 56.41% of the voting, beating out Jordan Leopold's tally that same night (30.56%) and Tyler Arnason's goal against Columbus on Oct. 30 (13.03%).
It was the second straight "Play of the Week" win for Smyth, who also got the nod a week ago for his tally against the Los Angeles Kings.
The play now automatically qualifies for Colorado’s year-end “Play of the Year” bracket-style tournament – to be determined by Avalanche fans.

Smyth Ends Shootout – 10/25 vs. Buffalo Ryan Smyth put a cap on Colorado’s 2-1 victory over Buffalo with this shootout goal. With the shootout tied, 2-2, Smyth skated in and beat Sabres’ goaltender Ryan Miller with a forehand to lead the Avs to victory.
