The Colorado Avalanche completed its three-day rookie camp on Tuesday at the South Suburban Family Sports Center in Englewood, Colo.
A total of 22 players competed in the rookie camp, including Wojtek Wolski, Brad Richardson and Colorado's No. 1 draft pick in the 2006 Entry Draft, Chris Stewart.
Joe Sakic and the rest of the NHL players report to training camp on Thursday for medicals and physicals and hit the ice for three days beginning Friday. On-ice sessions are scheduled to run Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Family Sports. All scrimmages and practice sessions are open to the public at no charge on a first-come, first-served basis.
The charity Burgundy/White Game will be held on Sept. 18 at Magness Arena on the University of Denver campus, and the Avalanche will host the Dallas Stars for the exhibition opener on Sept. 19 at Pepsi Center.
