The second-annual "Quest for the Crown" charity hockey festival, a four-day event that raises funds and awareness for the NHL’s Hockey Fights Cancer foundation, will be held at Big Bear Ice Arena in Denver from April 30 – May 3.
Quest for the Crown raises funds and awareness for the biggest fight facing humankind - the fight against cancer - through experience, education and expansion. The festival is comprised of numerous side-events that brings players and fans a competitive, yet friendly and highly-interactive experience. Everyone rallies behind the cause and joins forces for the Quest to find a cure.
In the first-annual Quest, the event raised exactly $6,000 for Hockey Fights Cancer. Thanks to the support from the National Hockey League and the Colorado Avalanche, along with the players and volunteers, the goal is to double last year’s donation and raise $12,000 this summer.
Quest II’s event schedule is highlighted by the main event from last year, the Skate with the Stars celebrity charity game. This game includes pro hockey players and sports personalities from all over Colorado along with a few lucky local hockey players that won a roster spot in the silent auction. This year's pledge drive will also give fans a chance to bid on their favorite celebrity player and win prizes if that player scores a goal.
Quest II also includes a 32-team adult marathon tournament over the course of three days, along with the Top of the Mountain table hockey challenge, the Sled Hockey Test-Drive, outdoor street hockey games for the kids, a silent auction, NHL playoffs on HDTV’s, great drinks, food, coffee and more.
Every hockey fan across the country is invited to this heart-warming four-day festival of hockey events, all of which celebrate the local hockey scene through a wide variety of games, tournaments, challenges and more.
