Cam Morrison, 20, was selected 40th overall in the second round of the 2016 NHL Draft by the Colorado Avalanche. The 6-foot 2, 201-pound forward has spent the last three years at the University of Notre Dame and will be a senior this upcoming season.
Morrison has helped lead the Fighting Irish be back-to-back Big Ten Tournament champions, earning the title for the past two years. He posted 24 points (12 goals, 12 assists) in his freshman season and racked up 23 points (eight goals, 15 assists) in 40 games during the 2017-18 campaig,. This past year, Morrison tallied 21 points (11 goals, 10 assists) in 32 games.

Prior to joining the Fighting Irish, the Aurora, Ontario, native spent the 2015-16 year in the United States Hockey League with the Youngstown Phantoms, where he posted 66 points (34 goals, 32 assists) in 60 contests and earned league rookie of year honors in recognition for his impressive play.
He recently talked with ColoradoAvalanche.com about his time in Colorado and his upcoming senior year at Notre Dame.
What are you most excited for going into your senior year at Notre Dame?
"I think just being a leader on the team and being comfortable with how things work around Notre Dame. I'm kind of showing the young guys how things work, and hopefully winning some trophies."
How was your experience this year when Notre Dame won its second consecutive Big Ten Championship?
"We were back-to-back champs, and since we had been there before we knew what it took. I mean every time you get to lift a trophy, it's an amazing feeling. Hopefully, we will get to do that again."

What was your favorite part about this year's Avalanche Development Camp?
"I think just getting to know the guys. There are a lot of great guys here, and every year you meet new guys and build strong connections and see people you know from previous camps. I think just being around the staff and all the other players is just awesome."
How would you describe your playing style?
"I would say I am a north-south winger and I battle hard on the boards. I like to go to the net as well, so just kind of getting to those good areas."
What is your favorite pregame meal or snack?
"I usually just eat whatever the team provides us. But if I had to choose, probably some chicken, broccoli and throw some pasta in there."

What has been your favorite thing you have been able to experience in Colorado?
"Probably going to Red Rocks this year at development camp."
If you aren't on the ice playing hockey, what are you doing?
"Either hanging out with friends, playing golf or watching TV."

"I am a big candy guy, I like my gummies."
