Practice Report - Oct. 5

by - Official Site of the Colorado Avalanche / Colorado Avalanche
The pace and intensity of this morning's practice was ramped up as the team prepares for Saturday's opening night contest against the Detroit Red Wings.

With two more days left to prepare for the season opener, coach Sacco addressed line combinations, among other things, in his post-practice press conference.

"The lines out there, right now, that's the way we're looking heading into Saturday night," said head coach Joe Sacco.  "I really liked our last two days of practice after our golf tournament on Monday.  We've had two good, hard days of practice and we've got two more days to get ready for Detroit."

The day ended with approximately 15 minutes dedicated to on-ice conditioning drills, followed by a team stretch led by T.J. Galiardi.

With Stefan Elliott's reassignment to the Lake Erie Monsters (AHL) earlier this morning, the current roster has been reduced to 26 players (23 active).  Kyle Cumiskey, Mark Olver and Brandon Yip have been placed on injured reserve.

Players on the ice this morning/line combos:
Mueller - Duchene - Hejduk

Kobasew - Stastny - Jones

Landeskog - O'Reilly - Winnik

Galiardi - McClement - McLeod

Hejda - Johnson
Wilson - O'Byrne
Quincey - O'Brien
Hunwick - Cumiskey
