After a five-game (5-0-0) road trip, the Avs skated on their South Suburban sheet of ice for the first time in nine days. 

They were a spirited and loose - yet - focused bunch throughout the hour-and-a-half practice session on Wednesday.  Line combinations this morning remained the same throughout the road trip.  Peter Mueller, sporting a burgundy jersey, participated in the full practice session.

The Avs are coming off a historic road trip that is currently the best in franchise history.  Colorado's getting production up and down the lineup and currently rank second in the NHL with 20 goals scored. 

Tomorrow's opponent, the Chicago Blackhawks, defeated Phoenix 5-2 last night in the Coyotes' home opener. 

Below were the forward line combinations used in practice:

Lindstrom - Duchene - Hejduk
Jones - Stastny - Kobasew
Landeskog - O'Reilly - Winnik
McLeod - Porter - Galiardi - McClement - Mueller

The defense remained the same: Johnson, Hejda, O'Brien, Quincey, O'Byrne, Wilson, Hunwick

Goaltenders: Varlamov, Giguere
