Notes from tonight's preseason contest against the St. Louis Blues:


Rookie defenseman Tyson Barrie's 3rd period goal gives him points in his first two preseason contests so far...Barrie has tallied 2-1=3 points, earning a point on every goal scored by the Avalanche thus far...also a team-best +2 on the night.

Erik Johnson logged a game-high 25:18 TOI...had two hits and two blocked shots.

Rookie defenseman Duncan Siemens appeared in his first career NHL preseason contest, earning 18:55 TOI, dishing out a team-high three hits...also had two takeaways

Jay McClement was perfect in the faceoff circle, winning all eight of his draws...the Avs, collectively, won 64% of the draws tonight.

Goaltender Semyon Varlamov stopped 22-of-24 shots in 58:41.
