Porter's Pass Named Play Of The Week

Forward Kevin Porter earned Avalanche "Play of the Week" laurels for his pass that set up a Milan Hejduk goal against the Minnesota Wild.

Porter's feed garnered 45.02% of fan voting, beating out another Hejduk goal (33.74%) and a Craig Anderson save (21.24%), both of which also came against Minnesota.

The play now automatically qualifies for Colorado’s year-end “Play of the Year” bracket-style tournament – to be determined by Avalanche fans. Be sure to check back each Friday during the season, as three new choices for the Avalanche’s “Play of the Week” will be posted for you to vote upon.

Porter Sets Up Hejduk – 2/3 vs. Minnesota
Kevin Porter made a nice passing play to draw the primary assist on Milan Hejduk’s first of two goals against the Wild. During a 2-on-1 rush, Porter threaded a feed by Minnesota defenseman Nick Schultz over to Hejduk, who deposited the puck past the outstretched left pad of Jose Theodore.
