Theodore Stops Two
Jose Theodore made not one, but two key saves on a Minnesota power play late in the first period. Brent Burns moved from left to right in front of Theodore’s crease and made a low forehand attempt. The Avs netminder made that pad save and also got in front of Todd Fedoruk’s follow-up attempt.

Theo Robs Gabby
Theodore kept the score tied at 1-1 nine minutes into the second period with this spectacular save. Marian Gaborik – the Wild’s leading scorer in the regular season – had a golden opportunity to score his first goal of the playoffs from the goalmouth. Gaborik took a touch pass and put a shot on a seemingly open net, but Theodore was able to stretch his left pad out to make the stop.

Stastny Scores Winner
Paul Stastny’s first career playoff goal turned out to be the game-winner for the Avalanche. Stastny corralled a pass from Milan Hejduk in front of the Minnesota net and flipped a backhand attempt over Niklas Backstrom.
