Just 10 hours after the Avalanche's charter flight landed in Fort Lauderdale, the players loaded up onto the team's bus and headed to BB&T Center in Sunrise for practice.

Colorado took the ice at the Florida Panthers' home arena at noon sharp and went through drills for about 45 minutes. The focus of the session was on special teams, and the club finished the practice by having a contest on which of its two power-play units could score the most goals.

As usual, Nathan MacKinnon was one of the last players off the ice, as he worked on tip drills with Mikko Rantanen.

The Avalanche's bus departed the arena at 1:30 p.m. and made its way back to the team hotel. The players have the rest of the afternoon off to do what they like and get ready for Saturday's contest versus the Panthers.
