It's a rarity for the Colorado Avalanche to travel on the day following a game, as the team usually leaves immediately following the contest. However, playing three games in four days in the New York metropolitan area allows the club that opportunity.
Monday is an off day for the team, with the only activity scheduled being a noon bus from New York City to a new hotel in New Jersey.
The trip to the New Jersey hotel from Manhattan took 35 minutes, and once there, the players dropped off their luggage in their rooms and had the rest of the day to relax in preparation for Tuesday's contest against the New Jersey Devils.
Colorado's matchup with the Devils will be the first of two meetings between the clubs this season. They meet March 9 in Denver.
