by Aaron Lopez / Colorado Avalanche
Newly acquired forward Peter Mueller is expected to be in Colorado’s lineup tonight when the Avalanche takes on the Anaheim Ducks at the Honda Center (8:00 p.m. MT/Altitude).

The 6-foot-2, 204-pound center was acquired earlier today from the Phoenix Coyotes, along with forward Kevin Porter, in exchange for Wojtek Wolski.

In 207 career games Mueller has totaled 107 points (39g/68a).The eighth overall pick in the 2006 Entry Draft has 17 points (4g/13a) in 54 contests this season.

Mueller could end up playing three games in three nights, as he skated for 13:58 and picked up an assist in Phoenix’s 5-2 loss to St. Louis last night. After taking on Anaheim tonight, the Avalanche will play in Phoenix on Thursday evening.

Porter, who won the 2008 Hobey Baker Memorial Award as a senior at the University of Michigan, will report to Colorado’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Lake Erie Monsters.
