The votes were tallied and you, the fans, chose Cody McCormick’s goal against Philadelphia as the Avs’ “Play of the Week” for the period of Oct. 9-17. McCormick’s tally received 48.5% of the voting, beating out Joe Sakic’s goal against Edmonton (33.1%) and Paul Stastny
’s pass to set up Ryan Smyth’s marker against Calgary (18.4%).
McCormick’s goal now automatically qualifies for Colorado’s year-end “Play of the Year” bracket-style tournament – to be determined by Avalanche fans.
