USA Hockey today announced that defenseman Jordan Leopold has been added to the roster of the U.S. Men’s National Team for the 2008 International Ice Hockey Federation World Championship.
Leopold becomes the fifth member of Colorado’s organization to compete in the event. Leopold, a member of the 2006 U.S. Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey Team and veteran of USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program, will compete in his fourth IIHF World Championship (2002-03, 2005). He also participated in two IIHF World Junior Championships.
Team USA will play its first game of the qualification round at the World Championship tomorrow (May 8) at 5:15 p.m. MT against the team that finishes third in Group C.
